Most small businesses struggle with product videos.
Professional video shoots are expensive. DIY videos often look low quality. And static product photos just don’t stop the scroll the way they used to.
So we built a smarter system.
At iHeartCustoms, we use AI tools to turn a single static image into a short animated marketing video — the same style of visual content you see big brands using online. This workflow helps us create high-impact content for custom shirts, DTF transfers, UV DTF decals, and branded merchandise without needing a camera crew or studio setup.
Here’s exactly how the process works.
Step 1: Start With a Strong Base Image
Everything begins with a high-quality static image.
We typically start with one of our ready-to-print files that features a full AI model — face and body visible. Full-body images animate better later because AI tools have more visual information to work with when creating motion.
This base image becomes the foundation for the entire video.
Step 2: Build a Lifestyle Scene Using AI
Next, we bring the image into Gemini to create a more dynamic environment.
Instead of using a plain or studio-style background, we prompt the AI to place the subject into a lifestyle setting. This could be:
• A city street scene
• A café environment
• An outdoor boardwalk
• A festival or event setting
We also guide the AI with lighting, mood, and atmosphere so the image feels intentional and not random.
This step transforms a simple product image into something that looks more like a real-world lifestyle photo — which performs much better for apparel marketing and custom merch promotion.
Step 3: Enhance Realism and Depth
Once the new background is created, we move the image into Meta AI for further refinement.
Here we enhance:
• Lighting and shadows
• Depth and background separation
• Subtle environmental effects
• Realism in fabric and skin tones
We may also add small visual cues like movement in clothing, background light effects, or atmospheric details. This makes the image feel less flat and more like a real photo taken in motion.
By this stage, the image already looks far more dynamic than a standard product mockup.
Step 4: Turn the Image Into Motion
Now comes the part that really grabs attention.
Using Meta AI, we convert the still image into a short animated video clip — usually around six seconds long. The AI adds subtle motion like:
• Camera movement
• Background activity
• Fabric shifts
• Light changes
• Environmental motion
Suddenly, the image feels alive.
These short clips are perfect for social media marketing, product promos, and ads because they loop naturally and hold attention better than static images.
How This Helps Us Serve Our Customers Better
This workflow isn’t just about making cool videos — it directly improves how we market and support our customers.
Because we can quickly create animated visuals, we’re able to:
• Showcase custom shirts and apparel in realistic lifestyle settings
• Promote DTF transfers and UV DTF decals with more engaging visuals
• Create better marketing materials for small businesses and brands
• Test new design ideas faster
• Produce high-quality content without increasing production costs
That means our customers benefit from stronger product presentation and more modern marketing visuals tied to their custom merch.
Why This Matters for Print Shops and Apparel Brands
The custom printing industry is competitive. Whether you run a clothing brand, a print shop, or a small business selling merch, attention is the most valuable currency online.
Static images alone often get ignored.
Short AI-generated motion clips give your products a modern, high-end look without the need for expensive video production. This is especially powerful for:
• Custom t-shirt marketing
• DTF transfer promotion
• Apparel brand content
• Event merchandise marketing
