Holiday Inn Resort Orlando — Surf & Splash Feature Sign Concept

When Holiday Inn Resort Orlando came to us with a vision for their FlowRider attraction, the ask was clear: transform an exciting amenity into something guests would remember, photograph, and talk about. The result was Surf & Splash Orlando Waterpark — a branded identity anchored by a custom fabricated feature monument sign positioned above the FlowRider.

This project marks iHeartCustoms' entry into a category we have been building toward: custom fabricated dimensional signage for hospitality properties, hotels, and entertainment venues across the Orlando corridor.

What Is a Custom Fabricated Feature Sign?

A custom fabricated sign is a built-to-order, three-dimensional piece constructed from materials including aluminum, acrylic, industrial foam, and layered composites. Unlike printed flat graphics, fabricated signs have physical depth, structural presence, and are engineered to anchor a space visually. They function as landmarks rather than labels.

For the Surf & Splash project, the proposed sign measures 15 feet wide by 4 feet tall, constructed with dimensional layered surfboard shaping, tropical wave graphics, palm tree elements, and a sunset color palette designed specifically for the outdoor Florida waterpark environment.

Why Hospitality Properties Invest in Feature Signage

Resorts and hotel properties along International Drive and throughout the Orlando market compete for guest attention in an environment saturated with visual stimuli. A well-executed feature monument sign accomplishes several things simultaneously: it creates a geographic anchor within the property, gives guests a natural gathering and photo point, reinforces the resort's branded identity, and increases the perceived value of an amenity that already exists.

The FlowRider at Holiday Inn Resort Orlando is already a premier attraction. The Surf & Splash sign concept does not change what the attraction does — it changes how guests experience it and remember it.

The sign is not the destination. The sign helps create the destination. The attraction already exists — the branding transforms it into a memorable, shareable, landmark experience for every guest who visits the property.

What Sets This Project Apart

The Surf & Splash sign was designed from concept through final rendering entirely in-house at iHeartCustoms before a fabrication partner was ever engaged. Our in-house design capability, combined with access to professional sign fabrication resources including LED module supply through Everylite and dimensional fabrication through Doer Signs in Orlando, means we are able to bring a fully integrated proposal to hospitality clients — from initial brand concept and custom artwork through to final fabricated piece.

This is not a standard print order. It is a complete custom branding engagement delivered with the same attention to project detail we bring to every commercial order.

The Investment

Every custom fabricated sign is priced based on the specific requirements of each engagement. Material selection, dimensional construction, finish, and installation scope all influence the final investment. Every piece is made to order and built around the client's property, brand, and environment — no two projects are the same. For hospitality properties, the return on that investment comes in the form of a permanent landmark piece that enhances guest experience, generates organic social media content, and strengthens the property's visual identity for years.

Who This Is For

iHeartCustoms now serves Orlando hospitality properties, resort operators, hotel ownership groups, venue managers, and entertainment attractions seeking custom fabricated signage solutions. Our production background in large-format print, UV graphics, and branded merchandise gives us a foundation most traditional sign shops do not bring to these engagements — a design-first approach rooted in how guests actually interact with branded environments.

If your property has an amenity, attraction, entrance, or common area that would benefit from a landmark feature sign, we want to talk.
